Opening Events February 6, 4-6 p.m.
Penelope Barrett, a printmaker from Vermont, documents the consequences of war as displayed in the daily news, in the tradition of Goya, Daumier, and Posada. Her depictions of military brutality leave no doubt about her view of the deceit of political leaders. In addition, Bennett’s etchings on industrial themes expresses the isolation that the individual experiences in today’s industrialized world. The images of naked flesh against steel pipes carries an implicit message of the toxicity to humankind in today’s industrialized society.
Wow…the deceit of political leaders…Another brainwashed person drowning in her environment of hate…so sad…Penelope…can you not think for yourself..do you always have to merely reflect those around you????
