The Alternative Spring Break groups would like to invite all departments and groups to join in and help make the 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Contest a huge success.
This is a contest between departments/groups, so get your creative hats on and start building. Each department/group is asked to build an all edible Gingerbread House and have it ready and brought to the HUB on Tuesday, December 11 at 9 a.m. At this time the contest starts, and it is up to you and your team to rally your students, friends and co-workers to vote for your house. Each house will have a jar in front of it and the voting is done by purchasing raffle tickets for a minimal fee. The winner of the raffle will receive the house and the Department/Group who raises the most wins 1st place and bragging rights.
The only real change this year is that the whole house should be edible. The contest dates are Dec. 11-13. Contact Fawn Ouellette at feouellette@plymouth.edu to officially enter your team.

Dennis Meadows will give a presentation Tuesday, December 11 at 7 p.m. at Heritage Commons entitled “Oil shortages and New Hampshire – Problems and Solutions.”
Meadows holds a PhD in Management from MIT and honorary doctorates from three European universities for contributions to environmental education. He is also the author or co-author of ten books. One, The Limits to Growth, was translated into more than 30 languages.

During his presentation at PSU, Meadows will summarize the facts that suggest global oil production has already started to decline, and will indicate what effects we may see from this in New Hampshire. He will also suggest what could be done at a municipal level to reduce the consequences.
The event, sponsored by the Center for Rural Partners, is free and open to the public. Light refreshments (local cider and other locally produced fare) will be served. Please RSVP to Marsi Wisniewski (marsi@plymouth.edu, 603-535-3275), since seating may be limited.
