Leila Christenbury taught high school English before becoming a professor of English Education at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is co-author of Writing on Demand and A Student’s Guide to Writing on Demand.   Some of her other publications include Making the Journey: Being and Becoming a Teacher of English Language Arts, now in its third edition, and Retracing the Journey:  Teaching and Learning in an American High School.
