Derek R. Durbin, J.D., the Environmental Policy Director for the New Hampshire Lakes Association (NH LAKES),  will take us through the process of how environmental legislation happens at the state level in New Hampshire, will examine political party differences and how this plays into the “framing” and formulation of legislation, and will cite several examples of where sound science has made a significant impact on successfully moving important environmental legislation forward.

The 2008-2009 Boyd Science Colloquium Lecture Series covers a wide range of topics from a diverse group of speakers. Topics will include environmental economics, climate change, acid rain, and forensic chemistry. Please contact Steve Kahl for more information (535-3154).
