Lamson Library Print Series
Opening Event: Wednesday, September 17, 4-6 p.m. Printmakers from New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont present works in collaboration with the Art of Democracy, which is a national coalition of political art exhibitions all taking place in the Fall of 2008 on the State of the American Political Scene. Major Jackson is the author of two collections of poetry, Hoops, a finalist for the NAACP Image Award and Leaving Saturn, winner of the 2000 Cave Canem Poetry Prize and a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Awards. He is a recipient of a Whiting Writers’ Award, been honored by the Pew Fellowship in the Arts and by the Witter-Bynner Foundation in conjunction with the Library of Congress. He is an associate professor of English at University of Vermont and a faculty member of the Bennington Writing Seminars.
