Art of Democracy, American Politics 2008: A View in Prints

Lamson Library Print Series

Opening Event: Wednesday, September 17, 4-6 p.m. Printmakers from New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont present works in collaboration with the Art of Democracy, which is a national coalition of political art exhibitions all taking place in the Fall of 2008 on the State of the American Political Scene. National exhibits and images may be viewed at: www.artofdemocracy.org and selected works from this exhibit are presented at: on the Lamson Library Web site.

Silver Center for the Arts

Opening Reception: October 15, 4-6 p.m. The Brown Company Photographic Collection documents the history of the Brown Company paper mill of Berlin, NH from the late 19th century through the mid-1960s. Much of the collection chronicles the social, cultural, and recreational lives of the workers, their families, and the place of these people in the life of the city of Berlin.

Karl Drerup Art Gallery

Opening Reception: October 22, 4-6 p.m. Perhaps every work of art is somehow a self portrait— an experience of externalizing an internal story that seeks to be understood in the light of consciousness, first by its creator and second by a wider audience. Within the genres of photography, video, and new media, this exhibition celebrates a very particular journey where the uncharted territory is an exploration of the artist’s own body, mind, and spirit. Curated by Chehalis Hegner, Adjunct Faculty.

Silver Center for the Arts

Auditions for the Educational Theatre Collaborative’s 15th season production of The Wizard of Oz will begin on Sunday, November 2.    High school and university students, faculty, staff, and community members are encouraged to audition.  Please schedule your audition time by contacting Brenda Gleich at (603) 535-2803.

Audition Schedule

November 2, 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. 3rd through 5th grade children
November 2, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. 6th  through 8th grade students
November 2, 6:30 pm. – 9:30 p.m.  high school and university students, faculty, staff, and community members

November 3, 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. 3rd through 8th grade students
November 3, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. high school and university students, faculty, staff, and community members
