The PSU Women’s Studies Council is hosting a Brown Bag lunch to discuss women’s health care. Please join us share your concerns and ideas with a panel of health care professionals and experts.

The debate concerning national health care has encouraged us to think about specific health care needs including those of women. At a recent panel on Women’s Health Care held in Portland, ME, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius noted that health care costs for women age 25 are on average 40% higher than those of men of the same age. Such statistics underscore the need for dedicated discussion about why women are subject to such different costs and how we might identify, explore, and solve women’s health issues that impact so many of us and the entire health care system.
