Students will learn: how to create graphic artifacts to be used in animation; the basic elements of animation software including timelines, frames, key frames, the stage, and drawing tools; using animation software to create characters using a hierarchy of components to move characters and objects in context to make an animated scene. Each day will begin with a brief discussion regarding a woman or group that is or has been deeply involved with technology. These include ENIAC programmers, Barbara McClintock, Sherry Turkle, Jane Goodall, and Marie Curie.
