João Luiz and Douglas Lora met in São Paulo as teenage guitar students and have been performing together for more than twelve years, perfecting a sublime synchronicity and effortless performance style. Equally comfortable in the unconventional venues of the New Music/New Places initiative, the Stowe and Chautauqua Music Festivals, and Carnegie Hall, they exude a heavenly partnership on Bach and Scarlatti as well as a joyous affinity for the sambas and choros of their native country. Theirs is an irresistible crossover artistry of the very highest order.
