The highly anticipated 2nd Annual Plymouth Rocks Curling League returns in March 2015 to the Plymouth State Ice Arena. Calling all past, present and future curlers! It’s time to awaken from hibernation, attach those grippers, put on those sliders, grab your brooms and come together once again for the most social game on ice.

This spring, curling has been refined, revamped, and reimagined. If you or anyone you know wants to try curling out for the first time, we will be hosting our Curling Open House on Wednesday, March 18th @ 6:00pm. The Open House is FREE for everyone! To register, e-mail us at

Our Rising Panther division is geared for beginner or novice players looking to increase their knowledge and basic skills.

Our Panther Elite division is for the extreme and experienced laxer who is ready to take her game to the next level with the most competitive skills and drills.

Goalkeepers will receive specialized training from our top notch GK staff.

The Plymouth State Volleyball Camp is a four-day camp designed to provide high school athletes with individualized training. The camp is open to students entering 9th grade through leaving 12th grade. Full day (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) and half day (8 a.m. - 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.) available.

Session 1 will take place from June 23-26
Session 2 will take place June 30 – July 3.

Plymouth State Athletics would like to extend an invitation to the Plymouth State community to honor Janet Nell who passed away on February 26, 2014.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 5th 11:00 AM, Riverside Cemetery - Fairgrounds Road Plymouth, NH.

A reception will follow honoring Janet at Noon in Foley Gymnasium, remarks will begin at 12:30. Light refreshments will be served.

Janet Nell came to Plymouth State in 1967 to begin a career that has left an enduring mark on both the Physical Education and athletic programs. Her impact reached far beyond the field, as she touched many students in her classroom. She also devoted many years coaching basketball, field hockey, soccer and tennis.

Janet founded the women's lacrosse program in 1968, serving as head coach until the spring of 1988.

Her role in fostering the growth of women's athletics is significant on our campus to this day. Janet was a pioneer for women in sports, a trail she blazed for many through the years. Coach Nell has remained special to all of us as coach, teacher and friend.

This tournament is open to single gender or co-ed teams. Teams will be made of 2 players, and will play on the designated course. The team with the lowest overall score will be the champions. All players must be registered team members by Friday, April 25th in order to participate. Play will begin on Friday, April 25th @ 2pm.

This is a Panther Championship Event. Teams wishing to receive points towards the Panther Championship MUST be registered before the end of the tournament.

Residents across New Hampshire are invited to Plymouth State University Saturday, February 2 for the “Think Pink” Breast Cancer Information Expo. Sponsored by PSU’s Department of Athletics, Center for Active Living & Healthy Communities and the Department of Health and Human Performance, this event is designed to raise community awareness about breast cancer including prevention, detection, treatment (both traditional and complementary), nutrition, rehabilitation, survivorship and family support. The Expo will be held in the PSU Physical Education Center and Field House from noon – 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 2. HHP Associate Professor Marjorie King was prompted to create this community outreach event through her own experience with breast cancer.

The event is being held in conjunction with afternoon home games hosted by Plymouth State’s men’s and women’s basketball teams. All proceeds from game ticket sales are being donated to the Play 4Kay Foundation, a national non-profit created in memory of North Carolina State women’s basketball coach Kay Yow that raises money for scientific research, assists the underserved and unites people in the fight against breast cancer.
