The second in a series of  “Water Week” events sponsored by Common Ground, PSU’s environmental and social justice student organization.

Water is the very essence of life. It sustains every living being on this planet and without it, there would be nothing. Come watch Irena Salina’s award-winning documentary investigation into what experts label the most important political and environmental issue of the 21st Century – The World Water Crisis.

This hard-hitting film builds a case against the growing movement to privatize the world’s dwindling fresh water supply, and asks the question ‘Can anyone really own our water?’  One of the activists featured in the film is Maude Barlow, Chair of the Council of Canadians, who will be a Sidore Lecture Series speaker on water issues at PSU on March 2, 2010.

PSU’s 2009 International Week will showcase and highlight the wide variety of internationally-oriented programming, activities, departments and student organizations that are involved in internationalization efforts on campus and abroad.

Activities and events begin Mon Nov 16 and conclude Sat Nov 21.

Some events are open to the public; others open to the campus community.

Hartman Union Building Multi Purpose Room

The 2nd Annual Gifts from Heart and Hand event will be held Monday, November 16, from 11am to 6pm.

Gifts from Heart and Hand is a fun and free event that features a wide array of gift ideas that can be made or purchased for under $10, as well as many money saving tips for holiday spending. A raffle will be held at the end of the day for each of the gifts featured. The event is open to all of PSU and the surrounding communities.
